Remote is the new normal

Freelancers and remote workers are not the people of tomorrow. They are the people of today. Being a freelancer is not something you say to your friends nervously when in between “normal” jobs. We are the new normal, and you are not alone.

Kaizenera workshops are designed to give you a sense of community. And more!

Important!

This workshop will be presented in Hungarian. You do not need to be fluent in English, however, in order to understand materials and slides, a level of intermediate language proficiency is recommended.

Module 1 – Introducing the Remote Revolution
In our short introductory module we take a look at current work trends, the place of remote work, and why all of this matters in the 21st century. We talk about the landscape of independence, we place ourselves on it to see where we are now with our career, and where we want to be. We meet the group and define what the whole day will be about, and hopefully, formulate what we expect to gain in this workshop.

  • Setting apart digital nomadism, freelancing, remote work and remote professionals
  • Managing expectations, current remote trends, risk and rewards, or the price of building a freelancing career
Module 2 – Defining Your Freelance Dream
This is the beginning of our journey, a point where we will aim to formulate a clear goal for our freelancing career. This includes several exercises that will require you to dig deep into your personal motivations.

  • Finding your core values and picking your dream
  • Determining key resources, weaknesses and strengths
  • Planning for a minimum viable product idea
Module 3 – Getting Clients
Most businesses live and die on the drawing board. If the calculations make sense, the business will thrive, and even later down the road, most company issues can be traced back to this process, or the lack of it. Freelancing is no different, and this is why we place great emphasis on how to build a profitable venture. This module includes:

  • Defining how much value you are creating
  • Techniques for conducting market research, including opposition data gathering qualitative and quantitative market research methods
  • Defining your externalities and internalities
  • A simple calculation of your business plan
Module 4 – Building a Profitable Business
The million dollar question for all budding freelancer: how to get my first client? However, not many realize, this is not the right question to ask. Instead, we suggest that every freelancer should keep their eye on three factors that affect growth:

  • How to get your first 10 clients?
  • How to have these clients pay 10x more?
  • And finally, how to make these clients returning customers?

In this module we address these seemingly impossible factors through actionable steps and real-life examples, all of which can help any remote professional prosper and see their freelance business as an intertwined system.

Module 5 – Sustainability of Your New Lifestyle
Many are surprised to see a separate module for sustainability in the context of freelancing. Especially those, who are only starting out on their remote journey. What most miss here is that as a freelancer you are tasked to create a healthy work environment, no HR and company team building will take care of that for you. Key topics:

  • Why have a module for work life balance
  • Defining internal and external stress factors
  • Setting boundaries with clients
  • Where you work from. Setting up a space for work.
  • Planning your week for work, physical health, mental health, and your hormones
  • Time and project management methods

Why would I want to do a workshop instead of an online course?

We are firm believers in online courses, they are great when it comes to learning dedicated skills and tools. They also really shine when the material is a lot to digest. However, nothing really beats the interactivity, the intensity and connectedness of a workshop. By simply showing up you take the bravest and most important of steps, the first one.

Also, we humans are social creatures, we are at our happiest when we have an experience to share. The feeling of finally connecting all the dots, the enthusiasm that comes with it is, and the rush of motivation is all quite contagious!

What can one day really give me?

A lot and even more. But you are right, a single day is not enough to teach you how to build a website, create an effective Google Ads campaign, or how to create a complete business plan.

A single day is, however, perfect to get you going. Our workshops are designed to make you go from zero to hero. In the span of a couple of hours you will go from feeling lost, to being energised, feeling a sense of purpose, and having an actionable, let’s-get-shit-done plan in your hands. Not too bad for a day’s work.

Can freelancing be learned?

You are right to question this, we did too. Freelancing is not for everyone, the price of all the remote benefits is having the responsibility of a business on your shoulders. There is always a downside.

Freelancing can be learned the hard way through trial and error. Building a successful career can take years, and requires immense dedication. We feel that through our courses and materials we can eliminate most of these hurdles, and shorten those years into months.

Enrolment closing soon, only a few spots left!
